Windows xp wmi error .. ?

iwant to share a internet connection with my xbox 360 but when i goto advanced in the internet connection property it says that the wmi is corrupt and i dont wanna ttry to find when it last was that it wasnt corrupt because impretty shure its not there .. and the people i bought it from 2 years ago didnt give me he xp disk.. any suggestions
