Chas above seems to not understand an important point. Evolution means change not advancing or descending. It just goes toward a fit in the environment. It is not trying to send creatures to college. If something gets an advantage, there is also some type of loss that goes along with it. In this case, it handled the malaria problem but also ped on a weakness.
