January 29/30 Asteroid?

if that thing was a threat to our existance, wouldnt our government or someone with a nuke/atomic weapon, just hit it once so that the force would push it or at least turn it to go another direction? i forgot wat the term was, wen ur in space, if i pushed u, u would go on ENDLESSLY untill something bumped u into another direction. Cant we do that to this thing? they say its size is like the sears tower (But its size isnt rly nown) and it suposebly wont hit erth, but others say NASA is actualy 5050 on it My question is if it hit erth how much dmg will be done, and if it was coming at us, would our governments not come up with the logical idea to shot it another direction?
